Action trailer 2: Taken 2

The trailer begins with the green screen of the trailer where it shows the film rating for the audiences, where this film will restrict certain audiences due to the content shown. The audience in which this film is targeted at from the film rating company is for PG-13 showing that there should be parental guidance for teens aged 13 and under. This is important because it makes it clear to audience about who can watch the film and this is important within a trailer as including it will make the audience alert about who can watch it, but showing a preview for all audience, so it can tease them about the film.  The genre of this film is a action and the convention include of Gun shots, weaponry, would usually have car chase, stunts, explosions and fight scenes. These conventions would interest mainly the male audience aged between 16-30 as they would usually be interested in these convention as they all create an energetic outlook to the film where it will keep them entertained for while.
We are shown a establishing shot of the location, as this allows to show the where the film is set. The lighting is very bright and looks quite delicate reflecting the atmosphere of this city, This is complemented by the non diegetic sound of a deep drone noise with the camera zooming in as this allows the audience to be taken along with them into this film as it will show them more about what the film is about. This adheres to the convention of a action film as the location of the film, where it starts to set the atmosphere of the film, with the modern location creates an illusion where the audience would believe what is going on in the film. Then the camera fades to show an over the shoulder shot where the women surprises her father, and he is shocked and happy to see her and hugs saying "baby" suggesting that this close attachment between them, as she is someone very special to him, and this shows a weak and comforting side, suggesting that using her could make this man in a suit where he look like he is very wealthy and has high status, making him a confident strong man in the film. Then his whole family meet and shows that he is really happy about the seeing them.
Then a birds eye view shot is shown of a building, along with the male protagonist voiceover saying "welcome to Istambul" suggesting it takes the audience through what this man does giving the audience an insight to his life, so they find out more about him and shows exactly where the location is and will start to make the audience familiar with location and they will know about the place. Then we cut to to show the conversation between the mother and the daughter where they talk about the male protagonist being one of the best person in there family, The medium shot of the mother laying on the bed suggests that she is proud of what his husband is doing and doesn't feel stressed about it, along with the non diegtic sound of the harp playing at the same time showing that it starts to build tension as it could show a side where they may not know about which will be reveal later in trailer.  Then we are shown scenes where both the father and daughter are spending time together, suggesting the close relation between father the daughter showing that they will be the most close in the film.

Then we are shown the film studio company for the film where it shows the 20th century fox, which is a well known film studio and distributor company and it is important to this in a trailer as this allows the audience to know who is releasing the film, as they more well known the distributor company, the better the film can be released, as they have release past well known films such as X-Men films and fantastic 4 as this allows to show the success of these film showing a more high chance of this film being successful. Then we are shown a high angle shot of a grave yard where they are at a funeral, suggesting it starts to show some of the events where the audience will feel sorry for, as it will show flashback of people who have died suggesting that they were helpless now that they have lost them.

Then a old man as the voice over start to talk about about the people that have died as he picks a hand full of soil as he and each time has a vowel to say about them making each handful meaningful as these people that have died are close people to them. The symbol could show a religion aspect which could show his belief being with him at all times.  Then the screen blanks out to shows some flashing shots of which shows the male protagonist killing these people, suggesting that they are against him for what he has done. This adhere to the convention to a action film as it shows the gun shots and people getting hurt as this shows the insight of what the male protagonist has done which has made them hate him and want to seek revenge on him.

Then we are fade to show a close up of the old man saying with confidence "We will have our revenge" with that with the last handful of soil, suggests that it is a promise that he will make sure he will fulfil in order to have peace on the ones who have died. With him look up suggests that will won't let go of the male protagonist until they find him and kill him, along with the lighting being quite bright showing confidence in him of succeeding in his mission. Then we cut to a low angle of him dropping the soil into the grave, making him look quite high up and shows importance on him as he holds alot of power.
Then a violin is added to create more tension as it starts to build up and show the how close they are in finding the male protagonist. Then we are shown a black screen of the date release of film, and this is an important convention and is shown in every trailer as this allows the audience to know when the film is out, with the white font, in capitals being placed at the centre of the screen making it grab the audience's attention in knowing when the film is out making it a memorable date for them. Then the next scenes start to show the mission in which the start to look for the protagonist. This flouts the expectations of which usually the male protagonist would start his mission on seeking revenge on the antagonist, but is the other way as the protagonist has done some wrong thing which as made them seek revenge the other way. Then the camera blurs out on from someone's perspective on finding the protagonist, which then shows the camera being focused him suggesting from this over the shoulder shot suggests that it a hidden perspective, so spying on the protagonist will help to track him down. With the non diegetic sound becoming more intense as they start to show the male protagonist being in action, as there are a group of people after him and then we are shown a medium shot of male protagonist holding a gun at the same time on the phone to her daughter, suggesting that its between his most closes person and this fight with these group of people that have come to fight him. This shows fight between people that will get hurt that are close to him.

As the male protagonist is talking to her daughter about what is going and gives her direct instructions on what she should do next, without her being kidnapped as well as her mother. The birds eye view shot of the women standing on the edge of the building along with the build up of the non diegetic sound as it shows she puts her on life in danger, making the audience scared for her as she doesn't know what is going on, so puts her own life at danger. Then the next few scenes shows gun shots and fight scenes, with women doing stunts as she being chased, with car chase and explosions, with the fast pace editing allows to show the energy of the trailer as they get away from the people that are after the male protagonist and his family and trying to to hurt them. These are all convention of an action film trailer as this shows the audience the key most busiest moments where it will intrigue them the most and by showing these quick hints will intrigue them into watching the film to find out what happen at the end.

The close up shot of women saying "Dad" suggesting that she seek help from him as she is scared for what she has to do, as he is the only person that she can rely on for help. This shows her facial expressions as he looks scared as he is very vulnerable and scared and this conforms to the stereotypes of how women are presented as it shows her being scared and relying on others for protection. Then tells her to get out some guns and grenades and bring them to him, then cuts to shows the group of people feeling quite relaxed compared to the protagonist as they have a clear plan and know what will happen as they know what habbits the protagonist have from the past fights. Then shows a long shot of the sun setting suggesting that it will take a long time in battle this fight. Then cuts to the women asking "what are you going to do?" suggesting  that she rely on him to know what to do next has this battle has become more dangerous. Then the camera blacks and fades with a reply with "what i do best" suggesting that now it will put him at full strength and power which he has which he is good at in order to defeat these enemies.
Then the non diegetic sound changes to a a choir harmonising with the next shot showing the name of the protagonist, and having this in a trailer will allow the audience to recognise who is the film, and may attract them more by finding out who is in the film as they may have seen him from other films, which may intrigue the audience to watch the film more. Then shows more scenes where there more car chases and fight scenes suggesting that it will take a long time in order to seek peace with other group of people and shows that it could be never ending. Then the conversation between the old man and the protagonist talks about killing each other in order to seek equality in this fight. Then the trailer fades with the protagonist saying " I will kill them too" suggesting it will be his major target in the film in order to find peace in this fight.

Then the trailer shows the title of the film with 'Taken' being in capital letters, enlarged at the centre of the screen as this allows to make it quite alerting to the audience. The white suggest innocence referring to his family who being targeted for something the male protagonist as done, whilst in the background shows the number 2 suggesting it could be part of a storyline of another film, so allows the audience to follow along with them. The red suggests death and danger suggesting it gives an insight to what the film is going to be like. Having the title in the trailer is a convention of a typical trailer as it shows the audience what the film is called and it makes it memorable for them. Then we are shown fade in and out of the production titles, directors, writers and people who were behind in creating the film, this is important in a trailer as it shows acknowledgement for them in the film.
