Masthead: The name of the company, which is usually place on the top third of the magazine, and would usually have a celebrity on the front and would cover some of the title. This is an element of promoting a film as it allows the fans who read these well known magazines and would attract more fans for the film, as it makes the film look very bold and stand out. Empire, total films and entertainment are some masthead shown in the magazines above as they are popular film magazines which a lot of audience would read in order to find out about new films that are out. Usually some Mastheads would part of the promotion of the film, through having the same colour scheme, so this shows that the magazine supports the film which will help gain more fans from the magazine company.
Taglines: Which is a slogan or a catchy-phase used to make a statement memorable with the audience. This is effective as it allows to make the audience intrigued about the film with this phase.
Main image: The main image would usually be the protagonist of the film, as this gives the audience an insight into who they are and see what they look like. The male protagonist would usually be quite well known with the audience from other films. So by having a well known protagonist of the film in character allows the audience to be intrigued about what they will do in the film.
Title of the film: The title of the film is usually shown in bold, vibrant colour at the centre of the magazine, which suggests that with these bright colour with bold, enlarged font makes the film look stand out so it would grab the audiences attention to it, so that they know what the name of the film is called.
Main coverline: The main coverline would usually be information or previews on the film, which usually be the focus point of the magazine as it will helps to promote the film as it would be give the audience hints and previews on the film which would intrigued in knowing more about the film.
Coverline: The coverline would usually show other stories which are included in the magazine, These would usually be on top and bottom third of the magazine and on the sides a magazine, which is effective as this would keep the audience entertained by having other stories. which can lead to having other audience's being attracted to the magazine.
Puffs and stills: Puffs and stills are used to give insights and hints on what is included in the magazine, and is usually placed on the sides, which is effective because it allows the audience to be given the insight into some of the films or programs which are being reviews, which would intrigue them to read the magazine to find out more about that story in the magazine.
Price and barcode: The price and barcode are shown in a magazine as it allows the audience to know how much they can buy the magazine for, but it is placed quite small so it wouldn't be the main focus in the magazine.
