Horror trailer 5: Sinister

The trailer begins with the titles for the film, Momentum pictures is an independent distributing company. Its important to have the distributing company in the trailer, as it show who help promote the film in the theaters, allowing the audience to know that the film is out. So having the title here allows to show acknowledgement for it. The genre for this film trailer is a horror as it some convention of it show family being haunted, using children to haunt the family, having very dark, abandoned location, having some of these elements allows to scare the audience intentionally. The audience for the film is intended to be for men and women aged between 16-30, as they may the family may do events in which they can relate to, but have scare at the same time.

Then we fade in to show a long shot of the location of the film, where it shows an ordinary home, where it looks like a family is moving into it. Having the location of the film at the beginning allows the audience to find out where the film is set, and as the camera zooms in it allows to take the audience which them to introduce the family who are moving in. The lighting shown in this shot is very bright, which would reflect the personality of the family, as they bring joy to moving in. Then the voice over begins with a little girl talking about how she didn't want to move in, suggesting that she isn't that happy that she had to move, then we are introduced to the child father, who then explain about there financial issue related to there old home. As the father is unpacking, he explains how he is writing a story around here, suggesting that this story will reveal a secret in this house, so choosing this location will allow him to find more about it and make another story out of it. Then we cut to a close up of his son asking if it will be a good one suggesting he may have different expectations on how the story outcome should be, and then cuts to show the mother, with a smile as it suggest it shows her happiness for the family, and the Father guarantees it will not let him down. Then the next few scenes shows more of the family moments, allowing the audience to get to know the family more.

Then the camera cuts to a to show the man putting away some boxes in the attic, with the lighting being quite dark signifying something mysterious and unknown may happen, which then the camera is focusing on where a long shot is shown of an empty room with a blue box in the middle of it. having the empty space suggests that this box may have something hidden which has been left behind along with the non diegetic sound of the drone  which complements this. which suggests that this starts to show something unusual as this box may hold something from the past.
Then the camera cuts to show the directors of the film, which shows from the two well known films paranormal activity, Oren Peli and Insidious, James wan. Having these well known directors allow them to know what the audience interests and having well known directors allows them to be more experienced in this types of genre, so the film will most likely to be success with these directors .

Then the camera cuts to show an over the shoulder of the man opening the box to find these old CDs, and the dark lighting suggests hidden information being revealed, and allows the audience to get involved with finding out about what these CDs are, then, as the male protagonist as the voice over talks about the box and talks directly to audience making them seem involved in this experience. Then the camera cuts to show a film reel, where the man put the CDs in and starts to playing each of them. Then we are shown a close up of the man starting each of the CDs, and blurs out the rest of the shot, as this allows to begins the hidden secret from the past about the home. Then we are shown different scenes are shown
previous family that lived in the house, which gives him and idea of who stayed there, so he get an insight of the past which the house holds. Then as he watching one of the footage, the drone noise along with a crash noise happens, which create a scare for the audience, as suddenly making the male protagonist jump out of his chair, suggesting that it may have stopped him from seeing something important. Then immediately turns it off and the camera cuts out, suggesting it leaves an enigma code about what may have caused the sudden jump, a this starts to create tension about what may happen to him. Then the next morning where the male protagonist calls the police to take a look at the footage, where the voiceover explains how some of the footage goes back to the past, so some of the past events which have been filmed but not been shown, suggesting that there has been a past. Then a close up is shown of man in his glasses reflecting the fire explosion on the car, suggesting these traumatic events happen, but no one is aware of it.

Then the male protagonist continues to talk directly to the audience and the police about some of his finding in the box, and has investigated to find this symbol which comes up in each footage. The bold, black symbol may represent a ghost leaving mark after haunting each family, which suggests that this house may hold a hidden past which haunts each family which enters and lives in it. The lighting around is quite dark with the torch lighting showing a hidden secret being reveals and would leave small hints to show it presents being there. The camera then topples around the male protagonist as this creates tension for the audience as it creates suspense as he found these CDs would show that later on something bad will happen to him. Then the non diegetic sound changes to a ting noise on it on suggesting it creates tension, with the high angle shot suggesting that the ghost is still around, and starts to hint the audience about what the ghost looks like, as it lurking around, knowing that it is after the male protagonist. The costume the ghost wear would have been camouflaged but with the sea water and slight lighting allows to identify how secretive this ghost is as it can get close at any point.

 Then a quote from the website dreadcentral.com, allows to show other views on view giving the audience an insight on to what to expect. As the film has been predicted to be the most memorable, suggesting that the audience won't forget this film after watching it, as the two director have made it more scarier for the audience, shown thorough the build of there previous film, making this one the ultimate one which will remain with the audience for a while, due to the events that occur in the film. Then cuts to show the male protagonist investigating these footages, with voice over explaining that it something that he has never encounter in his life. This suggest that this will show a turn point for him as he is new to all of this. Then as he puts one of the photos up against the window and takes it down to suddenly see the same image outside, with the non diegetic sound becoming more intense as it scare him again, as he has seen it himself in his current situation, making him terrified after seeing it for real and now knowing it still around. This would make the audience feel scared as they have seen the ghost again lurking around, suggesting that it will start to spy on this family, as it has found about what the male protagonist is doing. Then the camera cuts to shows another quote suggesting it gives  more viewpoint on the film giving the audience more of an outlook on what to expect from the film.

Then the camera cuts to show a shot reverse shot between the male protagonist and her daughter as she painted a picture of one the girls who use to live in the house, by the her facial expression it suggests her emotionless showing that she as been possessed by the ghost as its controlling her against her own family, suggesting that the ghost is after for them after finding out about its secret. Then cuts to show a long shot of the painting of the girl from the picture as it signifies that this ghost is leaving more and more hints of his present creating tension for what it will do next. Then the next scene shows more scenes where the family are starting to get tortured and makes the male protagonist more frustrated as it is affecting his family and feel helpless, and starts to burn all the evidence he had found, just to seek protection for his family, and tells his wife to pack as they want to leave right away, as it is having a major impact on there family. As shown through the close up of her child coming out the box, possessed as she has no clothes on, suggesting she has no control over her actions. This adhere to the convention of a horror film trailer as it shows that the ghost uses children as a way of getting revenge on the family and harming them, which will scare the audience as it uses innocent children to get revenge on the family.

Then we cut back to a close of the camera reel is playing it creates ticking sound which starts to build tension for the audience as it starts to describe the experience the audience should expect from watch the film, as it cuts back and forth flashing in and out of scenes, teasing the audience on events that happen in the film, which will make the audience more intrigued to watch the film, showing one word description what to expect from the film. Along with it is complemented with a scene with the protagonist going through the experience described making the audience feel apart of what the protagonist is feeling making them more scared about what to expect from the film. With the non diegetic sound with loud drum noises suggesting the intensity created through these scenes as it shows the capabilities of this ghost, as it can put anyone in danger.

 Then we cut to a long shot of five children sat down in a row, signifying the power and control this ghost has over them, making them seem more power than they are. As children are seen as more vulnerable and innocent, so won't know what is going on. With the dark back ground show the attic from the beginning suggests that this room is used to show all the a plans that take plan for the ghost. In the background shows a screen where it shows a ghost  sat down, wearing an old fashioned suit suggesting the power and control it holds over a lot of  things. Then suddenly the non diegetic sound become louder as the ghost jumps in front of the camera to scare the audience, suggesting it will become more intense when watching the film.
 Then cuts to show to show the title of the film. Which has been enlarged in capital letters, suggesting that it makes the title more memorable for the audience as the black font suggest a dark, mysterious, and suggests death, which may refer to the families in the film footage. With the back ground being quite crack suggesting all the separation this ghost has caused to all these families, suggesting it can do worse. Its important to have the title of the film trailer as it informs the audience on what its called making it memorable for them for when the film comes out.
 Then shows a camera reel moving as the next frame shows the release date, saying it will be out soon, so the audience have to stay updated for a release date, as this will alert them on when to watch the film. Below it shows the Facebook page in which the audience can find out more about the film, including the release date along with other trailer which will tease the audience, keeping them updated, making them more eager to go an watch the film.

Horror trailer 4: The women in black

The trailer begins with the showing the production titles for the film. Momentum pictures is an independent distributing company in the UK and Ireland. Along with the hammer, the British film production company based in London. Having both the production and distributing company allows the audience to know who created and promoted the film, and show acknowledgement for them.
The genre of this trailer is a horror and some generic expectation would include of an abandoned setting, usually have a dark, mysterious lighting, usually the protagonist would look for clues on what this ghost is like and will do research into it. Another element would be that there would be scenes where the ghost is causing problem, by scaring other or putting them in danger. The audience which this film is intended for is for is both men and women aged between 16-25 as this age range would usually want to watch film like this just for a scare.

Then we are shown a long shot of a train traveling, with the non diegetic sound of a harp playing suggesting a hidden mysterious, which will the audience will soon find out, with the long shot of the train traveling suggests that it will take along the audience through this mysterious, as has remained in the past but no one ever spoken about it. Then the camera fades to show a mid shot of the male protagonist staring at something suggesting he may have something hidden about him, which may have made him relocate, as a man says "your from London" suggesting that he doesn't seem happy about moving, which leaves an enigma codes for the audience as they would have to watch to watch the film to find out the reason, as the trailer just gives a small preview. As the old man starts talking about selling Leah Marsh's house, we the cut to long shot of an abandoned house, which has been used for years. This shows a convention of a horror film, as the abandoned house sets the scene for where the film is going to take place, with the fog around it shows, shows its a haunted place, where it holds a lot of hidden secrets, which will be found out throughout the film. A shot reverse shot has been used to establish the conversation between the old man and the male protagonist, as they discuss about the house, allowing the audience to get an insight about the house, and past which has remained with for years.

Then we cut to an over the shoulder shot of the old man wearing a suit and holding a dog, suggests he is more upper class, and shows his experience with the area as he says in confidence saying that it will be difficult to sell the house to someone close by, as it past a scared everyone, making them be put off from buying the house. this suggests that he may struggle from finding a buyer as the house hold as it background which everyone knows about.  Then cuts to show a desserted road where they are traveling to go and see the house, the lighting is very gloomy suggesting that this hidden past, has not been looked into for years, and allows the audience to get to know more about the place as it been located somewhere far, where it doesn't bother anyone. Then we cut to a close up of cross where it been place in the middle of this nowhere, and  the cross shows significance as it will be something the audience should remember as it will help reveal parts of the film.
As the voice over shows the old man talking about how the house should be brought soon, as people can move on, suggesting that it has been a long time since someone has thought about buying and will allow things to go back to normal, so clearing people's minds about the hidden past which is attached to the house. Then we are shown a long shot of the old man and the male protagonist traveling with a carriage with a horse taking them there, suggests it shows the time period of which this film has been set in, as it has been set in an old fashioned setting, reflecting people's view as they use to believe about ghosts.


 Then we cut to a long shot of the male protagonist entering into the front of the house, the house is covered with fog and mist suggesting the time period which this house has been abandoned for years. This allows the audience to feel involved in the trailer as they will follow the male protagonist as he goes through to find out more about the house. The non diegetic sound of the harp playing suggests that it create suspension of danger as the male protagonist takes this step to try and sell the house, but want to investigate its past first, to find out more about the house. Then the harps stops as a high angle is shown of male protagonist entering into the house, suggesting that he is not that aware of what is going to happen to him, and the high angle show that he will be the ghost next target, as he enters into the house it shows that they have a lot of power over him as he took that step that come in. Then cuts to show a point of view shot from the male protagonist view to show his impression of the house, as it looks old fashioned and looks rusty as has not been used in years, alongside a low pitch violin is playing at the same time suggesting that it shows the closeness of a ghost, that may haunt him afterwards, which teases the audience further making them eager to watch the film. Then the male protagonist is exploring the house, as he want to know more about it then he spins lampshade and then cuts to a closeup of him looking at it closely and suddenly a piano note is played which is very low and deep suggesting that there is something lurking in this house.

Then we cut to a women serving a drink, who is shaking at the same time, suggests that she is scared about that something bad will happen, this, then cut to show a two shot of the male protagonist and introduces a love interest, who worries about him as advises him not to go back to the house for his own safety. Then next scenes show him to continue with his investigation about the house, when he hears a noise, the cut to a medium shot of him looking around as a women behind him standing, the camera blurs out the background and focuses on them both as it show that this women is shadowing this man, and has encounter this, then the man turn around suddenly to see nothing, then the camera cuts to black suggesting that it creates suspense for the audience as the women has seen him around and may not like, which starts to create tension on what she may do next. The fats pace editing create more suspense as it shows this women's capabilities, as there are events which occur such as a fire, where its put people in danger, suggesting that she is a dangerous women to deal with. Then cuts back to an over the shoulder shot where he says "I can't leave yet" suggesting that he is determined to find out the background of this house, with the background blurred out suggests that he is on his own with this mysterious about the house as everyone else is scared of getting hurt or haunted.
Then the camera cuts to show a statement about the film, revealing to the audience more about the story, and it scares them more to find out that that it going to be one of the most scariest film, and the trailer guarantees this by the statement as it something the audience may have not seen yet. Having this in a trailer allows the audience to get some information about the film, giving them an idea of what to expect. Then the camera shows a three shot of these three girls dressed in white walking towards the camera, this suggests that they have been haunted by the women and now under her control. The white suggests purity and innocence as it shows the kid have been used at part of her way of seeking revenge at the male protagonist. This shows a convention of a horror film trailer as the children will be used as way of haunting the protagonist, as they don't know what is going on, so the ghost uses them as part of there plan. Then the camera fades to the male protagonist having a flashback to some other men telling him to leave when they said before it too late, suggesting that this was threat but he didn't take it, and just makes him remember suggesting that he may regret not listening to them in the first place. Then a storm takes place as the male protagonist continues to research into the house, but come across different thing which starts scaring him. The storm suggests that something bad will take place and leaves the audience thinking about what this women do next, so leaving enigma codes will intrigue them to go and watch the film.

Then the camera cuts to the protagonist feeling scared and runs inside the house, to seek protection from what is going on outside, then we cut to a point of view shot of the cross outside, along with the non-diegetic sound of a girl screaming for help, suggesting that this cross has links with the house, resulting in a past family member who use to live there, which may suggests that from that death shows his women intention of seeking revenge on other for the loss of her family. Then a voice over of the lady speaking to him earlier, talking about his son, and the shows him giving him a hug, suggests it shows a more caring side to him, by having someone he know close to him. This gives more information about him and his background about his family. Then cuts to a close up of her saying "go home to him" suggesting that she may have been controlled by the women, as she looks like she has no power over herself, which shows it message from the women saying that he should leave. Then we cut a long shot of him revealing another message saying "you could have saved him" printed in red. The red suggests that the boy she refers to is his son, who may have been killed, connoting death because he didn't listen about leaving, showing what consequence that has caused him to lose someone close to him, and with that he stands back in shock,  making him scared of what may happen next.

 Then the camera fades to introduce the male protagonist, with the dark horn playing at the same time suggesting that he has just put himself in danger, with the voice over saying that he should not be chasing after shadows suggesting that there is no point of getting to the bottom of it as something dramatic will happen to him, as he is now being tortured by the women. Having the cast's name in the trailer allows the audience to know the cast are, as they may recognize them from other films. Then we cut to show a point of view shot of an old photo which the male protagonist has found, which shows some background about the family who use to live there, suggesting that they were a ordinary family to begin with but something dramatic may have happened resulting them to split up. Also the point of view shot allows the audience to be involved making them feel apart in the scene so the letters in the background can give evidence about who use to live there and what caused there separation. Then the trailer continues as the women as the ghost and the male protagonist go head to head as he finds more clues about the family, along with the women trying to make it more difficult for him, as she tries to hurt him.

 Then the trailer becomes more fast paced, with the editing as it cuts to show different events where the male protagonist is finding new things, with the non-diegetic sound of the drone building suspense on what this women can do, scaring the audience further as it creates tension on what will happen next, with the fast pace editing allows to show small preview of the film teasing the audience on what to expect in the film. This adheres to the expectation of a trailer as it will hint parts of the film to the audience, making them eager to find out more about what happens. Then we cut to a black screen saying fear, in capital letters, as it shares some of the male protagonist emotions throughout the film, allowing the audience to get an insight of what the protagonist is feeling like so the audience can relate to him as they have been following him around through the trailer, so it make them seem apart of the trailer. Then we cut to a long shot of the male protagonist standing in some fog suggesting that his efforts won't do anything as the women has alot of power and control in stopping him, then a girl screams "Go!"suggesting this message that the women doesn't want him here, and through this shows that if he doesn't then she will put his life in danger. As a medium shot of him is shown holding and axe and a candle, suggests that he won't give up on finding out, and is determined to stop what is going on in this house.

Then the camera fades to show the title of the film, as this is an important element to a trailer as this tells them what the film is called, making it memorable for them. The word "women" has been enlarged and is glowing with a white light suggesting that it will evolve around a women which the trailer has shown in small hints, so it would intrigue the audience to go and watch the film. with the background with a white smokey background with black scene, suggests that she had a hidden secret that will be revealed in the film. The text have a white lighting shining suggests that she hold a lot of power, suggesting she can control a lot of things in order to seek revenge on them. Then cuts to an over the shoulder shot of the male protagonist placing his hands on glass window, then suddenly a women starts screaming on the reflection, suggesting she is trying to get rid of him in order to find her peace. Then cuts out to show the release date of the film, which has been enlarged and is in the centre of the screen, making it the main focus when watching the trailer, so it will be memorable to them when the actual film comes out. Its an element of a trailer which has to be shown to notify the audience on when they can see the film, along with the website below, in more smaller font, suggesting that it allows the audience to find out more about the film through website, keeping them updated about the film, it can also give them more trailers, and poster and many more teasing them about the film, so they can go and watch it.

Horror trailer 3: Insidious

The trailer begins with the age rating for the film, as this is an important element for a trailer as this informs the audience on the restriction for who can watch the film. The audience in which this film as been rated for advertising for a PG 13, where kids under 13 should have parental guidance when watching the film preview, because of the content shown in the film. The genre for this film trailer is a horror, and the generic expectation would include a childhood past, abandoned, dark locations, sometimes based on a true story, ghost would haunt a family member usually a child, as they are seen as more innocent and so won't know what is going on. All of these elements will all try and scare the audience, in the trailer making them watch the film.
Then the trailer shows a title relating to the film. Film district is an independent American motion picture, who also distribute, produce and finance films. By having a company like this allows to promote and distribute film at the same time, and they can gain more profit from films by doing more than 1 thing for a film. By having the distributing and production company in the trailer allows the audience to know who had created the film. Then the camera fades to show the title of the film, and it immediately tells the audience what the name of the film as it it comes up three/four times in the trailer, having this allows to keep it memorable all throughout the trailer. Having the production/distributing company and the title in a trailer as it allows the audience to know bit of background of who created the film and notifies them of what the film is called, so it can be remembered as it comes up a few time in the trailer. The hollow, dark noise starts to build tension for the audience as something mysterious is going to happen, which will create an unexpected shock for them

Then the camera cuts to a medium shot of a man sat on stair, as he is looks nervous as the man film asks him if he is ready, to for being hypnotized as this will allow him to recap his memory. As the camera shows him at the center, this allows the audience to be apart of what this protagonist is going through, as it looks like has had a shock, The background lighting is very gloomy and mysterious complements the medium shot of the man sitting down as it signifies a dark, hidden story which the man will reveal. This shows a convention of a horror film trailer as the dark lighting suggests a hidden side of the film and creates an atmosphere, knowing that there's something haunting them. Then the camera cuts an instrument, as it starts making a clock noise, as the trailer will show a time change back to the past, showing the audience bit of his past and how he has got to this stage of which he scared for his life. The camera blurs out the background as it focuses on the close up of the instrument, as this allows the audience feel apart of trailer as it hypnotizes them in to being apart, so get an insight to what this man has gone through.
Then the camera cuts to show the directors of the film. James Wan the director of saw and Oren Peli the director of Paranormal activity. Having these well known directors of previous horror film, will allow them to know what there audience interests are, as the title of these film have been enlarged, so that the audience can recognise these other film knowing that these directors have a lot of experience of making other horror films, as they have been successful. Then the camera cuts to show a long/ low angle of the house where the family are being introduced who are being haunted. This makes the house look more scary and controlling, as this shows the ghost inside hold a lot of power over this house uses it as way of seeking revenge.  They have been shown as an ordinary family, happy, and just shows what there daily life is like.the audience can relate as she show a ordinary family lifestyle which the can relate to as they may have experience the as one of the members. This gives the audience an insight into the families life which will be focused on through out the film, so they get a background of who they are and what they are like.

 Then next scene shows a boy fall from a ladder, and then shown through a two shot of the parents sympathizing for him as he is in coma and this allows the audience can feel sorry for them, as it was something they weren't expecting. However the two shot of the parents are blurred as the camera focuses on the long shot of the boy as he hold a lot of importance as it could be more than just a medical problem. This adheres to the convention of a horror film, as the ghost will usually use children to seek revenge as they are innocent and don't know what is going around them. Then the camera fades out to show a close up of the child's mother, who is staring and looks depressed  and the atmosphere being quite gloomy adds to her current situation, as she is worried about her child as she says "they don't know what to call it" suggesting that she is hopeless about what may happen to her child, as its something unknown, suggesting that it could be a ghost controlling this. Then cuts to shows the title of the film as it shows that it reminds the audience about the name of the film, then the text scrambles to say "insidious is.." suggesting that it could be possessing or haunting someone, leaving the audience think about who it could be, so it would make them eager to find out more about it.

Then the next scenes shows the women investigating around the house as she starts to hear noises, as she goes to sees that its a rocking horse, creating suspense as this ghost is controlling certain things in the house leaving clues of its presents. Then cuts to show a long shot of the boy closing the door, this suggests that he is being influence by a ghost as he closes the door, creating tension of what may happen next to him, teasing the audience further as this would make them eager to find out what happens next. Then we cut to high angle shot of a baby monitor, suggesting that the main protagonist is spying in his room and the baby monitor hold a lot of important as this may have solution to what may be happening to the child, so this shot reflects this. Then suddenly a bird view is shown as she flashes her torch, suggesting the dark, gloomy lighting reflects a suspension of who this ghost is and suggesting something is going to scare her making her look innocent and scared. Suddenly a voice started shouting making her and the audience scared as then she runs into the baby room finding a baby crying, and this leaves hints that the ghost is here.

 Then the voice over begins with the mother explaining what she has heard, and the camera starts to following along, so show a point of view shot of the boy in his room, knowing these clues of these noises suggests that it leaves clues from this ghost, as it here to haunt this family, but leave the audience think why it here for this family. Then the trailer becomes more quick, with the fast pace editing as the camera starts to show quick shot suggesting that ghost is here haunting them all, as it seek revenge on them, with the close up of the door handle being tried to be opened, suggesting it shows the suspense and desperation of this ghost trying to hurt this family. Then shows the family being tortured, creating tension on the capabilities of this ghost. This shows a convention of a horror film trailer as it will show a small preview of the family being tortured, showing the power and control this ghost holds, making the audience eager to find out about what happens next. Then we are shown a three shot of the parents and the child on floor with blood stains over the white sheets, suggests that something bad is haunting there child and his family, as this scene look very dull with the boys face suggesting its making him weak and affect his health through this possession of this ghost controlling him. Then someone refers to someone who knows more about this, as the women seek help, to find some peace for her family.




Then the next shot show a man talk about how he is checking lighting in the house and shows close up shots this huge camera which keeps track of what is going on in the house, this shows that this will support the family through recording what happens, The lighting is quite bright suggesting that this could be one way in which could solve the families problem. Then an extreme close up with focusing on her eye suggests it shows  a old women staring suggesting that she knows what may be bothering the family, in terms of spiritually, as this shot suggests she can sense something, then the camera cuts back to more moments where the family are being tortured in the dark, with the minamal lighting as this create suspense for the audience, as they want to know when this will stop, making them more eager to watch the film to find out.
 Then a long shot show a hallway where the lighting is brighter at the other end, suggesting that there is a way of getting rid of this ghost from this family, as the child's mother says she wants to leave the house, so that she can leave in peace with her family, from the tone of her voice suggests she is desperate to leave and seek some protection for her family. Then we are shown a close up of a brief drawing, showing an image of what this ghost looks like, suggesting its something unusual that has not been seen, which starts to creates more tension as it show something evolving from the past which is haunting the family. Then as the camera moves down the hallway the old women starts talking about how it isn't the house which is bothering but its there son, which scares them more knowing that its family member which causing the problem, but doesn't know what to do, as the camera moves slowly it suggests that it takes the audience along with to reveal the secret behind this suggested by the dark lighting showing that there's a hidden story behind why this family is being tortured.
 Then the camera shows some fast paces shots and scenes as they investigate who this ghost is, but as they are trying to investigate they find clues, such as the medium shot of the two women dressed white suggesting innocence as they may be controlled by someone, suggests that this is found footage, then shows more chaos as the family are tortured even more afterwards, leaving hints for the audience on what may happen next. Then the camera cuts to shows the title of the film again, making sure the audience remember the title, as it's unusual to to show it a lot throughout the trailer. This allows the audience to remember the film quite well making it more memorable than other films. Then the trailer shows the release date for the film, saying "everywhere April 1st" suggests that this is been this film will become available to watch, and everywhere for the audience to notice when it comes out suggesting it will be popular.  
Then the trailer blacks out the suddenly shows a women coming quite close to the camera quickly, scareing the audience, making them feel apart of the trailer, as this will make them scared with the fright. Then the trailer ends with the production titles in small, as this allows to show who had created the film, showing acknowledgement for it. Having both the release date and the production titles/credits at the end as part of a trailer as this allows the audience to be notified on when the film is released for them to watch and show recognition for who made the film.
