Film trailer 8:The heat

The trailer begins with the titles with the 20th century fox film/distributor company, and this allows the audience to find who is promoting the film as the audience will be well known from other successful film which will show that having a well known distributor company will allow to have good chances of making the film sell well. Then we are shown a film production company CCE, and this allows to shows the audience to know who created film. The genre of this film trailer is a comedy, and the audience which this would be aimed both male and females aged between 16-24, because of the level humour will be appropriate for his age range.
 The non diegetic sound of the police siren playing with the fast pace music suggests a busy atmosphere and place in which the long shot of different locations of where the film is set, this gives the audience an idea that the film is set in a modern city where a lot of people are working. With this it starts to show what the female protagonist does who is part of the FBI, and the voice over of female protagonist begin as she talk to her manager about how well she has been doing on her own, point out her achievements which makes her stand out from everyone else. Then the camera fades to show a medium shot of the one of the female protagonist entering in the office, as the camera tracks her rushing in allowing the audience to follow along with her, wearing a suit represents a confident and strong and this flouts the expectation of how women are represented, as usually they shown as innocent and weak, and now it shows in modern society it shows that women can be more confident and wearing a suit, allows her to have higher status then the rest of the people in the shot as they all in police uniform , making them seem as one team. Then we cut to two shot her and her manager talking about how she cant work well in a team, but she is better off on her own, The man has a emotionless expression showing that he has had enough of her, and the female protagonist looks worried as she doesn't understand how well she doing, but is not impressing her leaders. Then the camera cuts to another mid shot of her coming out on her own, looking really happy about herself, suggests that she is very self centred and like ti be independent.
The camera then turns to show a three shot of three men standing, suggesting they are a part of one team, and by there expression on there faces they don't really female protagonist as she seem really stuck up but holds a higher position than them, then shows a scene where non of them listens to what she says, then makes her seem slightly frustrated. Having this allows the audience to get to know more of the protagonist background and personality, giving them an insight on what she is like.
Then cuts to another frame introducing the director the film, Paul Frieg who also directed the film Bridesmaid, which another successful film, so by having a successful director of a previous comedy film allows to show more experience of what there audience are like. The film Bridesmaid is in capital letters and is in bold white which stands out from the red suggest love and comfort, which can reflect the film. By having this it allows the audience to recognise this well known film made by the same director of this film, so it can attract some of the audience from the previous film. Then fades to the next scene to show the women traveling, then the camera zooms out to show a long shot of busy road, suggesting that she is someone important to focus on, this allows to show what her job is like on a day to day basis. Then a two shot is shown of her and another guy as they talk about another case, then we introduced to another new protagonist, as this guy get run over by her, and looks angry and she has been represented has very strong and powerful, by looking oversized makes her seem tough making others scared of her. When the man describes her, "hes a she" suggesting that this women is very manly and can cause alot of problems.
 Then the camera cuts to another frame introducing the female protagonist name, in capital letters in bold so it allows to make the audience familiar with the cast. The same also done for other women "mcarthy", suggesting that these two protagonist, will be the main focus for the audience, and will follow them all throughout the trailer. Then we cut to women coming out of the FbI van as she goes on the search for this women, Then the non diegetic sound, is more of feminist song which reflects a the role of the female protagonist as she has been represented as fearless and strong, which will reflect both the female protagonist attitude.
 Then we cut to a three shot of where the women is questioning the man and the manly women who is stood in the center at the back suggesting that she holds equal power between them and the dialogue between them starts by talking about who is officer and starts to requests to have the guy being questioned back, Then the camera shows a close up of the manly women threatening the officer with an angry, impaient attitude, this suggests that the audience to start to get hints of her capabilities of hurting others. Then the next few scenes shows her in action destroying alot of things, this shows her strength and physical power over thing, and this would scare others due to her behaviour through her threats. Then as the women threaten one of the officers, the next frame questions the audience directly, as this allows them to feel involved in trailer as this would make them think.

Then the next two shots show a two shot of both these protagonist together, suggesting that they are working together, in some sort of plan, which begins to tease the audience, making them intrigued on finding out on how they came out on working together and what they are working on. In this two shot is shown them both teaming up with each other, and this shown through, there outfits, by wearing these police outfits gives them a sense of power and authority, with location being there meet up and place where they can gather information and evidence. This shows the commitment they both have as they may go on this mission which will benefit both of them. This allows to show a more friendly side, from both these protagonist. Then we the next few scenes show them being more friendly as they start to get to know each other, as they know that they will start to work together, in this mission, which the audience have to watch the film in order find out what happens further. This conforms to the conventions of a comedy film trailer as there would usually be two protagonist who will be together doing thing together throughout the film as this shows a there friendship is very strong that they build a strong connection as they will do something that will create a positive impact on them. Then we see a scene where there is an argument with a blond women asking them to leave then the guy shouts at them and then they take him out and hangs him on the balcony, and this is shown through a mid shot of him screaming with fear, then cuts to a birds eye view of to show the distance which makes the audience feel scared for the guy because as he gets dropped on top of a guy, but was very sudden. This shows that they don't want to harm anyone, and this shown as this was an accident they don't really commit to.
 Then the non diegetic sound continues as the trailer shows other scenes of them in action together. Then we cut to a high angle of an explosion the quickly cuts again to an car exploding, This suggest that them working as team will allow them to stronger putting both there skills together which will help them succeed with there plan. Then the we cut to show a two shot where they are both celebrating in there success of there plan however as the officer breaks the glass and her hand starts bleeding and screams really loudly and the other women faints, this shows her weakness, showing her scare for blood. This shows element of a comedy film as good occasion sometimes turns out bad and this starts to create humor for the audience and shows there friendship of being close.
Then the camera cut to show the title of the film, with the word "heat" in capital letters in bold at the center, this allows the audience to find out the title of film, which will be memorable for them when it comes to watching the film. The red which complements the title, suggests that it refers back to the two protagonist as they are two different types of people who usually would work together. Its important to have the title in the film trailer because it notifies the audience  Then we cut to scene where they are dancing and then hold each other, this shows there connection and closeness as they care for each others need,  which shows strong friendship, which show that working together they will both get what they want equally.

 Then the trailer ends with the release date for the film, and this is important to have in a film trailer as this will be a key piece of information about the film which the audience need to know about if they are interested in watching the film further. Also below the release date is shown the website which allows the audience to find out more information about the film, which can give them more insight in to the film including other trailers, posters and videos and many more, which the audience can share that information on social media and will attract a wider audience for the film. Then lastly the production titles and the cast are shown, and this makes it clear who produced the film as the audience may be familiar with some of them from other films.
