The trailer begins with the green screen outlining that there will be an audience specified to watch the film, due to the type of content shown. Its important to have the film rating on the trailer as this will have a types of audience that can watch the film due to the type of content shown. Then the camera cuts to a show the film studio and distributor, the 25th century fox, by having a well known distributor, will allow to have more experience in knowing which audience to attract, in order for the film to be successful.
Then the camera cut to show a pan of the a birds eye view of a night city sky and this allows show the location of the film. The slow electric gutiar as we are then shown a two shot introducing the two main protagonist sitting in a coffee shop, this shows that audience will get to know the protagonist as they will be following them all throughout the trailer and film. Then the camera cuts to close up of one of the protagonist along with a shot reverse shot, where it establishes there conversation about where they have to got in life. This allows the audience to get an insight of what these protagonist are about as this will show there personality which is an element for the conventions of a comedy as the two male protagonist will be together throughout the whole film and there personality will be bright but in this case there careers aren't going so well, which throughout the film will show how both these protagonist get through there ups and downs and how they cover it with entertainment for themself.
Then the camera then freezes to introduce the two male protagonists, by having this allows them to look more significant when watching the trailer as this will allow the audience to follow them in what they get up to in the film. Both Ryan and Justin's names have been enlarged in capital letters in white font, as this makes it stand out and memorable for the audience as they will follow them through the film, as there conversation continues after as Ryan gives advise to Justin that there is hope for what they are doing currently with there careers this shows that he reassures Justin about there life, trying to cheer him up. Then the camera cuts to a party scene where someone asks Ryan about his advert, which he feels proud about as he feel that people are now trying to notice him, then we cut to the advert where it show one of the male protagonist is involved, this just gives the audience an insight into his career, and this would create humour for the audience, and shows the convention of which shows something normal, that the public wouldn't necessarily talk about. Then the camera tracks the other protagonist with the non diegtic sound of the electoric guitar suggesting masculinity, as the dark lighting suggesting that something unexpected will happen, but as he walks through Ryan dressed in a white sheet acting as a ghost scares him, then we are shown an over the shoulder shot of him screaming with fear and punches him in the face.
This shows that it give the audience a perspective of how there friendship is like during the film, as they don't take anything seriously, this shows a convention of a comedy film as it shows the two male protagonist being very close with there friendship that they will act like brothers, showing what they do they will do it together. Then we are shown a low angle shot of Ryan on the floor, suggesting his stupidity and shows that he will that friend that will take risks in the film, however by Justin's expression of him feeling annoyed and frustrated, saying "We don't jump out on brothers man" suggests if they scare anyone they do things together rather than on there own. Then the camera cuts to show a two shot of them deciding on what to wear to the party, as the dialogue and so Ryan gives two options and they both decide on go as cops, but quickly Ryan makes that decision, and this shows that he will take lead of thing whilst Justin will just go along with it just for fun.
Then the camera cuts to when the two main protagonists enter the party, then blurs the crowd to focus on them, as the audience will be following them all through the film, with there costumes looking prominent and stands out to the crowd. This suggests that others may get mislead by there outfits as being the cops shows a lot of importance and as they enter the party making it look as if they are about to stop whereas they will use the costume as a way of scaring people. Then we are shown a two shot of the two protagonist, also shown a mid shot of there costume, and there facial expressions shows there stern joke of being a police, which will help trick the crowd. Then the camera cuts to different shots which shows the two male protagonist acting as police at a party, by doing this it shows that they hold more responsibility and the public look up to the police as they hold a lot of power and authority. By having this the two fake cops can control certain situation, by misusing how police act.A birds eye view is shown in one of the scenes where the two fake cops stop a skateboarder and ends up falling, as both of them shout out "police" making him scared as he suddenly stops and falls. Then camera cuts to a medium shot of the male protagonist shocked to see how much power they have just by having these costume on. Then there dialogue shows the audience that they have a lot of power just by having a police costume on and can control them. The audience will be following these two male protagonist through, as they hold the prevalence through the whole film trailer, so this will allows the audience to follow them through the events they go through making them seem apart of the film. The next scenes show the two cops finding some people smoking, and one of them says "officer" suggesting power and authority and show the status they hold in which the public respect, and by there shocked facial expression of them smoking as well, which shows how these fake cops use this power to gain respect from the public.

Then we cut to show the distributor and film studio in which the film has been made. Its important to show this in a trailer as it allows to show a lot more information about who distributed the film, as it is well known for distributing other successful films such as the star wars trilogy and home alone. The blue siren represents the theme of the film, so it helps to make this film stand out from the other films.
A shot reverse shot is shown to shows the conversation between two male protagonists as Justin talks about how long there going to keep the act up for allowing the audience to feel involved in what they are doing. Justin's facial expression shows seriousness as it shows the audience that he is more responsible unlike Ryan, who likes to extend it and makes things worse for both of them. This is shown through the next scene where Ryan is fixing up an old car and we are shown a mid shot of him putting a lot of effort into gaining other people attention.
Then the audience hears Justin asking where the cars is from and the camera cuts to a long shot of the police car, showing the end result of Ryan's work as they talk about how it can be illegal for what they are doing. This shows the full extend of which show high risks of them being caught, but knowing this Justin tries to explain what could happen if they take on further. The dialogue between the two male protagonist, talking about the car, "This is super illegal bro" suggests that with the two shot which is shown a lot through out as they will be the main focus of the whole film as they do everything together, which shows the audience there relationship as they are very close just like brother so what they do they will both come out with an outcome together. The quote from Justin suggests that what they are doing can cause a lot of trouble, however Ryan knowing this, he continues. This adheres to the expectations of a comedy as the both the protagonist will do something that will cause problem during the film , but having small parts of it in the trailer allows to hint the audience on what happens in the film making them intrigued to find out what happens next. Then the non diegetic sound of the slow drum beat, with the dark lighting with the different birds eye view shot of different cities, suggesting that what they what they are doing can affect there a lot of people by tricking them, then the voiceover at the same time saying "we could go to jail for years for this" suggests that it can have an huge impact on there life and career, if they get caught. The non diegetic sound starts to create as it starts to show the extent of there trick, however the audience may think that there is another reason on why they are doing this.
Then the camera cuts to close up of the radio which gives information to them and shows the significance of how they will do thing and will keep them informed about upcoming events which are coming up which they can go to, then cuts to another two shot of the two male protagonist fighting over siren shown through the anger and fustration, suggesting that both of them have different thoughts, one knowing that what they are doing is wrong and the other is just continuing, knowing that he will get attention from the public and through this will take time to figure out what will be right for both of them. Then the non diegetic sound completely as the women gives information about other girls around, and this then changes there mood as it something that interests them both which then lets them continue with there plans in order gain attention from everyone else, which shows that this will cause distractions for them in knowing that what they are doing is wrong. Then the next scenes shows the two protagonist in action as they enter into different parties and becoming familiar with the public, so they become more popular with them. Then we are shown a 30 degree of one of the protagonist taking a gun. This shows that they are taking some responsibility of what actual police do.Then we are shown the title of film, with the siren flashing on top it which starts to show the theme of the film. The capital letters with the word "cops" enlarged suggests that it would grab more attention and having it at the centre will become the main focus for the attention to place upon as it stand out and makes them alert. It important to have the title of the film in the trailer because it makes the audience know what the name of the film as it will be memorable for them.
Then we cut to an over the shoulder shot of pretty women who opens the door, which automatically the two guys are attracted to, this is shown through the colour of her dress. Red signifies love and passion and create a bold image which makes the two guys attracted to her. She seeks for there helps with her sority sisters, then we cut to the scene where they try to solve the problem between them but end up get beaten up. The anger on the two girls faces as they fight the two cops shows there strength and power and this flouts the expectations of how women are represented and shows are more stronger and fearless side as they beat up the fake cops.
Then to end the trailer it shows the month in which the film will be released, this allows the audience to be notified on when it come out, and is an important feature of a trailer as this will let the audience know when to watch the film. The font is the same as it follows the theme of the cops and is placed in the centre of the screen allowing it to grab attention first and makes it memorable for them as it will refer back to this film. Also in each bottom corner there is a website and an #letsbecops suggesting that there using two most popular ways of promoting the film, and is quite effective to use in a trailer as it can attract a wider audience, and using one of the most popular ways of advertising through social media as fan can share the film and spread the word with the film, so with the hastag will allow it go popular in other countries and make it the film go international so more people will find out about it. The website allows the audience to find out more about film, such as more trailers, posters the latest information about the film and bu having will allow fans to be intrigued and teased in finding out more about the film.
